Housing and Learning Disability: Transforming care and support
The Housing LIN is committed to supporting our members, commissioners and providers improve the independent living choices of people with learning disabilities. We have been working with NHS England and NHS Improvement Learning Disability and Autism Programme to develop their local and regional housing partnerships to increase supply. For more about how we can help localities develop a better range of housing choices, download our brochure.
There are an estimated 930,000 adults with a learning disability in England, 129,000 of whom receive local authority social care support. These pages provide resources, references, tools and outline good practice to ensure that people with learning disabilities and autism have increased choices and quality of where they live. They are segmented into key themes to enable you to navigate around the topics and access relevant resources more easily.
Finally, if you or your organisation require training, we offer training for people who want to take their knowledge about Autism a step further. The course aims to really put you in touch with the issues faced by People with Autism, their parents and carers; and to offer ways of working with them that will both improve your knowledge and increase your confidence. Learn more at: Autism – some different perspectives or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org (opens new window).
Please note, following government guidance on social distancing, we are currently exploring how to offer training services remotely.
